Originally released on Blue Note in 2003, the project saw Madlib take scissors and glue to the iconic jazz label’s vast discography, “repossessing” music by legends like Wayne Shorter, Donald Byrd, Bobbi Humphrey, Bobby Hutcherson and Horace Silver into low-slung breaks and hip-hop instrumentals.
